Sudurpaschim Royals have advanced to the final of the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025.
In the first qualifier played on Tuesday, Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Biratnagar Kings by 77 runs to secure a place in the final. Despite the loss, Biratnagar will get another opportunity to reach the final through the eliminator.
Chasing a target of 156 runs set by Sudurpaschim, Biratnagar were bowled out for just 78 runs in 14.1 overs. Although Faf du Plessis scored the highest for Biratnagar with 36 runs, the team failed to mount a significant challenge.
For Sudurpaschim, Scott Kuggeleijn, Abhinash Bohora, and Harmit Singh claimed two wickets each, playing a key role in restricting the opposition.
Earlier, after losing the toss, Sudurpaschim opted to bat first and posted 155 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Binod Bhandari top-scored for Sudurpaschim with 63 runs off 52 balls, including three fours and two sixes. Aasif Sheikh and Sherdon Jackson contributed 20 runs each, while Harmit Singh added 14 runs and Ishan Pandey chipped in with 13.
For Biratnagar, Pratish GC and Merchant de Lange picked up two wickets each, while Surya Tamang and Sam Heazlett claimed one wicket apiece.
