Nepal has clinched the Women’s Twenty20 International (T20I) Series against Malaysia, winning the fifth and decisive match by five wickets at the Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground in Malaysia this morning.
With this victory, Nepal sealed the five-match series 3–2. Chasing a 104-run target set by Malaysia, Nepal reached the mark in 18 overs, losing five wickets.
For Nepal, Rubi Poddar top-scored with 26 runs, followed by Puja Mahato with 23 runs, Rubina Chhetri with an unbeaten 15 runs, and Samjhana Khadka with 13 runs.
For Malaysia, Ainna Hamizah, Nur Dania Syuhada, Aisya Eleesa Erni Firdaus, and Nur Alya claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, after opting to bat first upon winning the toss, Malaysia posted 103 runs for seven wickets in their 20 overs.
Winifred top-scored with 40 runs, while Mahira Izzati Ismail made 19 runs, Ainna Hamizah scored 15, and Nur Dania Syuhada contributed 11 runs.
For Nepal, Kabita Kunwar and Rajmati Airee took three wickets each, while Rachana Chaudhary bagged one wicket.
