Unity Cup T20: Nepal Clinches Historic Series Win Despite Heavy Defeat in Final

Wednesday, 01 October 2025

Nepal suffered a crushing ten-wicket loss against the West Indies in the third and final match of the Unity Cup T20 Series at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, UAE, on Monday night. However, Nepal secured the series 2-1, marking a historic achievement with back-to-back victories against the two-time T20 World Cup champions.

Nepal had already sealed the series after winning the first two matches - a 19-run victory in the opener and a dominant 90-run triumph in the second game - both historic wins for Nepali cricket on the international stage.

In the final clash, Nepal, put into bat after losing the toss, managed only 122 runs in 19.5 overs. In reply, the West Indies chased down the target in just 12.2 overs without losing a wicket.

For the Caribbean side, Amir Jangoo starred with an unbeaten 74 off 45 balls, while Ackeem Auguste contributed a solid 41 not out, guiding their team to a consolation victory.

Despite the defeat, Nepal’s series win against one of cricket’s most decorated sides is being hailed as a milestone moment in the nation’s sporting history.
