Seven distinguished literary figures from Nepal and India have been announced as recipients of the Bijaya Malla Nai Shatabdi Puraskar, to be awarded on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of renowned dramatist, poet, and novelist Bijaya Malla.
The award has been conferred in recognition of the recipients’ significant contributions to creative writing and academic research, according to the Nai Academy.
The recipients are Dr Rama Siwakoti, Dr Sadhana Panta, Dr Lekhraj Khatiwada, Dr Gopal Prasad Gaire, Dr Bhagawan Chandra Gyawali, Dr Nityananda Khatiwada, and Prof. Dr. Krishnaraj Ghatani.
The decision to honor the academicians was made at a meeting of the Nai Academy, chaired by Indira Prasain, the Academy stated.
The Bijaya Malla Nai Shatabdi Puraskar is being presented as part of commemorative programmes marking the centenary of Bijaya Malla, one of the most influential figures in modern Nepali literature.
