CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has called on the authorities not to impose any restrictions on his movement, passport, or the peaceful demonstration planned by the Youth Association Nepal (YAN), the party’s youth wing.
Addressing the third meeting of the YAN Central Committee on Sunday, the former Prime Minister emphasized that the democratic rights earned through a long struggle must be exercised without obstruction.
“We are not infiltrators, but a legitimate political force with a long history of advocating for change and political progress,” Oli said. He urged the government to respect the constitutional right to peaceful assembly and to allow demonstrations following prior notification to the administration and police.
Oli also cautioned against attempts to curtail political freedoms, stressing that peaceful protest is an essential element of democracy.
