Wednesday, 29 October 2025

President Ramchandra Paudel is set to depart for Doha, Qatar, on November 3 to attend the 2nd World Summit for Social Development, scheduled from November 4 to 6.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Paudel is visiting Qatar at the invitation of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and will lead a 12-member Nepali delegation to the high-level international event.

During the visit, President Paudel and the Qatari Emir are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Summit. The Head of State is expected to return home on November 6.

The Summit, being organized in accordance with a United Nations General Assembly resolution, marks the second global gathering of its kind after a 30-year gap - the first having been held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1995.

The upcoming event will deliberate on contemporary global challenges such as unequal development, demographic imbalances, and the social impact of technology, aiming to adopt a common resolution for enhanced international collaboration on social development.
