Minister for Youth and Sports Bablu Gupta has said that policy-level corruption remains one of the biggest obstacles to Nepal’s overall development.
Speaking at a felicitation program organized by Gen Z youths in his hometown on Tuesday, Minister Gupta remarked that corruption embedded at the policy-making level has eroded public trust and fueled frustration among citizens. “It is policy-level corruption that has crippled education, health, and sports sectors, ultimately compelling the Gen Z generation to rise against systemic corruption,” he said.
Gupta emphasized the need to create employment opportunities for young people, stating that job creation was one of the key demands raised by the Gen Z movement. “The government must now formulate policies that reflect the ideas and aspirations of the youth,” he added.
Addressing recent irregularities in the sports sector in Lahan, Minister Gupta said that investigations were underway. “I am personally reviewing the documents related to the reported irregularities,” he confirmed.
On the same occasion, Minister Gupta visited the family of Gen Z martyr Bijay Chaudhari at Lahan–15 and assured them that the government would not overlook the sacrifices made by the families of Gen Z activists.
