Prime Minister Sushila Karki held a high-level meeting with the chiefs of the country’s four security agencies on Friday to review the current security situation and discuss necessary measures.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting was attended by Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Home Secretary Rameshwor Dangal, and the chiefs of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the National Investigation Department.
During the meeting, the security chiefs briefed the Prime Minister on the existing situation and possible security challenges.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Home Minister Aryal said, “We thoroughly analyzed the present security situation and received briefings about possible demonstrations by various groups. The government believes that any group can put forward its political demands in a responsible manner.”
He further added that the government has kept the door open for dialogue to resolve political issues and is ready to hold talks with all concerned sides.
