Representatives of the Gen-Z movement have urged all political parties to actively participate in the House of Representatives (HoR) elections slated for March 5, 2026.
Speaking to the media after a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and members of the Council of Ministers at the Office of the President, the representatives expressed confidence that all parties would engage in the democratic process and make the most of the opportunity.
Gen-Z representative Miraj Dhungana described the upcoming elections as an essential democratic exercise to elect the people's representatives. He voiced hope that the polls would be conducted freely, fairly, and impartially, allowing for genuine competition among political forces.
“We call on all political parties to participate in the elections and ensure fair competition,” Dhungana said, adding that a new political force could emerge from the process. He also emphasized the inclusion of individuals who played vital roles in the street movement within the current Council of Ministers.
Earlier on Friday, President Ramchandra Paudel convened a meeting with leaders of political parties, including representatives from the dissolved parliament and the government, to discuss preparations for the upcoming elections.
During the meeting, party leaders demanded guarantees of peace and security during the polls, while the government appealed to all political forces to take part in the electoral process.
