An Information Technology Centre has been established at Kathmandu University (KU), Dhulikhel, to promote research, innovation, and digital stability within the university.
Alongside the centre’s launch, KU has also introduced a new mobile application titled ‘KU-Connect’, designed to enhance communication and access to academic and administrative information for students.
Speaking at the inauguration, KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Achyut Wagle said that the university would soon develop a research and ethical framework to operate a supercomputing cluster for advanced research projects and the implementation of the National AI Policy. He added that KU is working to create systems capable of supporting the nation during emergencies such as earthquakes, pandemics, and floods.
According to the university, the KU-Connect app offers students direct access to academic and administrative updates, including their profile management, course lists, results, fee details, payment records, certificates, and university news.
The establishment of the IT Centre and the launch of the app mark a significant step toward digital transformation and technological advancement at Kathmandu University.
