Nepal’s economy recorded a growth rate of 4.61 percent in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, with its total size estimated at Rs 61.07 trillion and 220 million, according to the Annual Report unveiled by the Ministry of Finance today.
The report stated that 81.33 percent of the total Rs 18.60 trillion and 300 million appropriated budget was spent, amounting to Rs 15.12 trillion and 980 million.
Under recurrent expenditure, Rs 9.56 trillion and 360 million, 83.84 percent-was spent out of the Rs 11.40 trillion and 670 million allocation. Likewise, capital expenditure stood at Rs 2.23 trillion and 940 million, representing 63.56 percent of the Rs 3.52 trillion and 350 million budget.
In the area of financial management, Rs 3.32 trillion and 670 million, or 90.58 percent, was spent out of the Rs 3.67 trillion and 280 million allocation.
Total revenue collection for the fiscal year amounted to Rs 11.96 trillion and 190 million, of which tax revenue accounted for Rs 10 trillion, 49 billion, and 870 million, non-tax revenue for Rs 1 trillion, 28 billion, and 940 million, and other receipts for Rs 17 billion and 370 million.
The ministry noted that this represents 84.28 percent of the on-budget revenue collection target of Rs 14 trillion, 19 billion, and 303 million.
