Located in Pokhara Metropolitan City–25, Lwang can be reached by road via Hemja, Khanepani, Bhedabari, and Kholamukh. For many trekking enthusiasts, however, the journey itself is part of the adventure.

A scenic four-hour hike along the Mardi River, passing through verdant forests and rugged hillsides, offers visitors an unforgettable introduction to this tranquil destination.

The first sight that captures the attention and imagination of visitors is the expansive tea plantation spread across nearly 1,200 ropani of land on the upper slopes of the village.

Gurung said the village's homestay facilities can accommodate around 400 guests overnight, while as many as 600 visitors can be hosted during peak tourism seasons.

Lwang primarily attracts domestic tourists, particularly from nearby districts including Kaski, Tanahun, Syangja, and Baglung. The village offers homestay experiences that allow visitors to engage with local lifestyles, including traditional farming practices and cooking methods.

Guests can savour dishes prepared from locally sourced ingredients such as corn, millet, barley, wheat, and fresh vegetables, offering an authentic taste of rural Nepal.

The natural beauty of Lwang has also made it a popular filming location for Nepali movies, including Prasad-2 and Dui Nambari. The films have helped showcase the village to a wider national audience and boost its tourism profile.

The growing recognition has encouraged some young residents who had previously sought employment abroad to return home and invest in tourism-related enterprises. Their involvement has helped create new opportunities in homestay operations, tea cultivation, and agriculture.

Residents believe Lwang has the potential to establish itself as a leading international rural tourism destination. However, they emphasize that infrastructure improvements-including better roads, footpaths, drinking water facilities, and accommodation services-are essential to achieving that goal.

As its emerald tea gardens continue to flourish beneath the shadow of the Himalayas, Lwang is steadily carving out a place on Nepal's tourism map.
