IPPAN Gets New Executive Committee Under Mohan Kumar Dangi's Leadership

The Independent Power Producers' Association Nepal (IPPAN) has elected a new executive committee under the leadership of Mohan Kumar Dangi following its 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The election committee announced the new leadership team after the AGM concluded late Friday night. As per the association's statute, Dangi automatically assumed the position of IPPAN President.

Uttam Bhulon was elected Senior Vice President unopposed. Likewise, Uttar Kumar Shrestha, Narendra Ballabh Pant, Bikram Bista, Sushan Karmacharya, and Him Prasad Pathak were elected Vice Presidents unopposed.

Similarly, Teknath Acharya was elected General Secretary unopposed, while Kabita Pokhrel was elected Deputy General Secretary.

The newly elected Secretaries are Abisha Mall, Isha Shrestha, Kuvera Man Nepal, Bijaya Mohan Bhattarai, and Suman Kumari Joshi, all of whom were elected unopposed.

In the only contested race for the position of Treasurer, Shankar Basyal secured victory with 267 votes, defeating Mithun Chakravarti Prasad Paudel, who received 82 votes.

Likewise, Anup Acharya, Kadam KC, Jagadish Sivakoti, Jagat Bahadur Pokhrel, Narayan Kandel, Milan Khadka, and Barnan Lamichhane were elected unopposed as open members of the executive committee.

The newly formed committee is expected to lead the umbrella organization of Nepal's private hydropower developers in advancing the country's energy sector and addressing key issues facing independent power producers.
