In a move aimed at improving public service delivery, government officials have begun delivering passports directly to service seekers at their doorsteps in Myagdi district.
The District Administration Office has initiated the service in coordination with the District Post Office in Beni Municipality, ensuring that citizens receive their passports without having to visit government offices.
Chief District Officer Rabindra Acharya said the initiative aligns with the government’s policy to provide services at citizens’ homes, as outlined in point 27 of the 100-point governance reform agenda.
“We started the service on Wednesday in line with the government’s policy of delivering public services at home. The distribution of passports through the Post Office will continue,” said Acharya.
On the first day of the initiative, passports were delivered to Krisha Thapa Chhetri, Saraswati Ghimire Thapa, Kiyan Thapa Chhetri, and Karishma Thapa Chhetri of Beni Municipality.
Service recipients have expressed satisfaction with the initiative. Saraswati Ghimire Thapa said the doorstep delivery has provided significant relief and helped strengthen public trust in government services.
