Youth Step Forward for Social Change: SET Council to Hold 3rd SXC Walkathon

Thursday, 29 January 2026

The Social Service, Environment and Technology  (SET) Council of St. Xavier’s College, Maitighar, is set to organize the 3rd SXC SET Walkathon this Saturday, continuing its commitment to student-led social engagement and community outreach.

The SET Council is a student-run body focused on nurturing youth leadership, social responsibility, and public participation. Every year, it organizes major public initiatives such as the SXC SET Walkathon and the SET Exhibition, aimed at bridging classroom learning with real-world social impact.

One of the Council’s flagship annual programmes, the Walkathon brings together students and members of the wider community to walk in solidarity for a common social cause. This year’s event is being organized in collaboration with Astitwa Nepal, with a focus on promoting inclusiveness, social awareness, and collective responsibility.

The Walkathon is open to participants of all age groups, encouraging the involvement of students, families, and the general public. Interested participants can obtain physical tickets from the college premises.

According to the organizers, all registered participants will receive an official 3rd SXC SET Walkathon T-shirt, refreshments, and a certificate of participation. The SET Council believes the initiative will help inspire active civic engagement and reinforce the message that meaningful social change begins with informed and collective action.
