Four people, including three members of a single family, were killed and two children seriously injured in a road accident at Birendra Bazaar in Ganeshman Charnath Municipality-1 of Dhanusha district on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Dhan Bahadur Purbachhane Magar (40), Shambhu Purbachhane Magar (35), Nisha Purbachhane Magar (35), and rickshaw puller Dambar Rai (40). Police confirmed that all four died on the spot.
According to Police Inspector Laxman KC of the Area Police Office, Dhalkebar, the accident occurred when a passenger bus en route to Dhangadhi from Biratnagar collided with an auto rickshaw (Province 2-01-001 Ha 1230).
The victims were residents of Bharatpur in Ganeshman Charnath Municipality.
Two children, Shital Magar (14) and Roshan Magar (9), sustained serious injuries in the crash and have been admitted to Neuro Hospital, Janakpurdham, for treatment.
Police said an investigation into the incident is underway.
