The Weather Forecasting Division has forecast nationwide rainfall and snowfall today, influenced by the combined effect of westerly winds and a low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea.
According to the Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather across the country remains generally cloudy, with moderate snowfall and rainfall expected in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
Light rain is also likely to occur in one or two places in the Tarai belt today. The Division further stated that heavy snowfall and rainfall could occur in the hilly and mountainous parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces by tonight.
Similarly, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, and partly cloudy in the Tarai belt this evening.
There is also a possibility of snowfall and rainfall in one or two areas of the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
The Division’s bulletin noted that heavy snowfall and rainfall are likely in one or two mountainous and hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces tonight.
