The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has imposed a ban on flying kites, drones, and balloons in the vicinity of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
Airport Managing Director Hansraj Pandey said the restriction was necessary as the repeated flying of kites, drones, and balloons near the airport poses a serious threat to flight safety.
“We request everyone to refrain from such activities because they could seriously affect the safety of flight operations,” Pandey said, warning that legal action will be taken against anyone violating the rule.
