The family of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali citizen held captive by the Palestinian group Hamas, appealed to Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Sunday for the government's urgent diplomatic intervention to secure his release.
Bipin's mother, Padma Joshi, and his sister, Pushpa Joshi, met with the Prime Minister at her office in Singh Durbar. During the meeting, they urged the government to undertake all necessary diplomatic initiatives to ensure Bipin's safe return.
According to Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, who was present at the meeting, Prime Minister Karki assured the family of the government's full commitment.
"On the occasion, PM Karki vowed the utmost effort from the government's side for Bipin's release," stated Foreign Secretary Rai.
The government's pledge comes amid ongoing international efforts to manage the crisis involving hostages taken during the recent conflict.
