The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed that 30 people have died and more than 1,000 have received treatment for injuries sustained during the ongoing Gen Z protests across the country.
Secretary at the Ministry, Dr. Bikas Devkota, said the figures were compiled from 29 hospitals nationwide. He noted that 30 deaths and 1,061 cases of treatment have been officially reported so far.
According to the ministry, the fatalities include six at Civil Service Hospital, eight at the National Trauma Centre, three at Everest Hospital, two at Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal, one at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, three at Frontline Hospital, two at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, and five at Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj.
As of the latest update, 274 injured individuals are still undergoing treatment, while 56 have been referred to other hospitals for further care. A total of 719 have already returned home after receiving treatment.
Among the injured currently hospitalized, 48 are at Civil Service Hospital, 58 at the Trauma Centre, 20 at Bir Hospital, 25 at TU Teaching Hospital, 24 at Kathmandu Medical College, and 26 at Birendra Military Hospital, according to the ministry.
