NA Extends Prohibitory Order and Curfew in Valley

Thursday, 11 September 2025

The Nepal Army (NA) has extended prohibitory orders and curfew in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts in view of the ongoing security situation.

According to the NA Public Relations and Information Directorate, the prohibitory order will be enforced from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Thursday, while the curfew will remain in effect from 7:00 pm Thursday until 6:00 am Friday.

The prohibitory order will, however, be relaxed for essential work from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and again from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Essential services such as ambulances, fire engines, health workers, security personnel, and media personnel, along with vehicles transporting food, fuel, milk, vegetables, water, and medicines, will be allowed to operate during the restricted hours.

Similarly, government employees, as well as those working in banks, financial institutions, and other public bodies, will be permitted to travel to their workplaces by showing valid identity cards. Passengers with domestic or international flight tickets will also be allowed to travel to and from the airport.

The NA has requested the public to coordinate with security personnel for any necessary assistance. For areas outside the Kathmandu Valley, decisions regarding restrictions will be taken by respective District Security Committees based on local security conditions.

Appealing for public support, the NA emphasized that security personnel remain committed to ensuring the safety of the Nepali people and carrying out humanitarian rescue operations whenever required.
