Malaysian PM: Malaysia Has Never Wavered in Defending Palestinian Rights

Tuesday, 26 August 2025

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, condemning the situation in Gaza as “the harshest and most inhumane form of occupation.”

In a statement posted on Facebook on Monday, Anwar stressed that Malaysia has consistently defended the rights of Palestinians and denounced the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza.

“For decades, Palestinian land has been seized, homes destroyed, schools demolished - and even mosques and churches have not been spared,” he said. “What is happening in Gaza today is not merely war, but the harshest and most inhumane form of occupation.”

Quoting his post, Malaysian national news agency Bernama reported Anwar as saying, “This is not the act of humans.” The Prime Minister reiterated Malaysia’s commitment to continue supporting the people of Gaza and the broader Palestinian struggle for liberation.

“Malaysia, together with international partners, continues to provide aid - from medical treatment to educational opportunities,” he said. “Last night, the MADANI Government announced an additional RM100 million allocation for the Palestinian people.”
